My account

On the My account page, users and administrators can edit the account settings such as name, email, two-factor authentication, password management, and more.

Settings

Timezone

Choose what timezone you are in, to get accurate time references in the system according to your location.

Language

Meridix Platform supports many different languages, such as English, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, German, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese. Set the language you want the platform to be presented in. This only affects your own user interface.

Security

Password

Under the security section, you can change the login password to your account. Just press the button “change password” and a pop-up dialogue window will appear where you can change it.

Enter your current password, followed by the new password twice to check that you got it right both times. To make sure you have a secure password, the system only allows a minimum password length of 12 characters. You can also see a barometer at the bottom of the dialogue window that indicates the password strength.

Two-factor authentication

In the security section, users can choose to require a two-factor authenticator for extra login security for their account. This means that the system will require both the password with the username/email and a second verification that it is in fact the user who is logging into the system. Meridix Platform offers three alternatives for two-factor authentication (2FA):

  • E-mail

  • OTP/Authenticator app

  • Mobile phone number

Depending on what system settings (which are set by the system manager) and permissions you have, it may vary which one of these alternatives you are able to choose from.

Require two-factor authentication for your account

If you want to enable 2FA to your login, given you have the permission to choose this, you can activate 2FA under the security settings at my account.

Check the box for requiring a two-factor authenticator. If it is checked and you wish to remove 2FA - just uncheck the box and save your changes.

E-mail

If you have your email filled in under My Account and choose to require 2FA - the email alternative is set as an alternative for 2FA by default.

If you don’t have any e-mail set yet but want to choose this as an alternative for 2FA, you have to fill in your e-mail under My account.

OTP/Authenticator app

How to add an ITP/authenticator app for your 2FA signing in

To activate an OTP/authenticator app as a 2FA, you need to configure your choice of authentication app towards the platform. This is done in the configuration window for two-factor authentication. Either press “configure” next to OTP/authenticator app or go to its header.

To activate an OTP/authenticator app, with an account connected to the Meridix Platform, just follow the steps provided directly in the platform:

  1. Download an authenticator app of your choice on your smartphone or tablet. We have linked two alternatives for easy and quick download (Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator) but you can choose which one on the market you prefer.

  2. Open the authenticator app and add an account to connect the app and platform login. Scan the QR code or enter the code manually into the authenticator app.

  3. A one-time code will appear in your app. Verify that the generated code in the app works by entering the code in the marked area and press “Verify”.

  4. Generate OTP configuration by pressing OK in the bottom left corner.

Done. You will now have the OTP/authenticator app as a 2FA alternative when logging into the platform.

Choose the OTP/authenticator app alternative when logging in. A one-time code will appear in your authenticator app, which you have to verify with the Platform before you get logged in.

How to remove the authentication app as an alternative for 2FA

If you wish to delete an OTP/authenticator app configuration, choose “configure” in the Configure two-factor authenticator window, or go to the header Configure OTP/authenticator app.

When you have an OTP/authenticator set and active with an account, a “Delete” button appears next to the “Verify” button. Click delete to remove your authenticator app configuration.

A dialogue window will pop up, to make sure you want to delete OTP settings. Press yes, to delete your OTP and close the window. Done.

Phone number

You can activate the phone number alternative as a 2FA by adding your phone number to the two-factor authentication configuration. This is done by either follow the configuration button next to “mobile phone number”, or go straight to the header “mobile phone number”.

Add the phone number you want to use for the 2FA configuration and press OK. Remember that this option demands that you have your phone nearby every time you want to log in to the platform.

Now, by choosing the phone number as the 2FA alternative when logging in, a text message with a code (new code will be generated every time) will be sent to the registered phone number. Enter the code into the system and it will be verified by the system before the user gets logged in.
